Imagine at ten being the holder of a CSEC pass. This is the reality for a local girl from the Scarborough Roman Catholic School. Sandeera Lewis has become the nation’s youngest known student to write and pass the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate.
The Caribbean Examination Council stated that in the May/June exams for this year only 33 percent of students in the region attained Grades 1 to 3 in Mathematics. This decline has been steady for the past three years and has prompted the Subject Advisory Committee be prompted to address deficiencies in the subject across the region.
