The Internal election for the Tobago Organization of the People which was carded to take place at the Mason Hall Primary on Sunday 14th July has been postponed to a date to be fixed.
Admittedly, Tobagonians were shocked by the TOP’s 12 nil defeat last January, but in his first candid interview today since, Mr. Ashworth Jack — Political leader has a different view.
Prominent lawyer, Martin George, gave his in-depth analysis into the THA Election; focusing on the “race factor” and its effect on the election result.
The Tobago Organization has lost the Tobago House of Assembly’s 2013 election. In fact they won none of the 12 seats and although the political leader of the party, Ashworth Jack isn’t sure where the party went wrong, he takes full responsibility for the loss.
Last Friday, hundreds of Tobago Organization of the People supporters came out and paraded through the streets of Scarborough in a celebration entitled “Yellow Friday.”
On Friday, the People’s National Movement also gave their supporters a treat. The party held a Youth Rally at the Plymouth Recreational Grounds with artistes from throughout the country.
