Demolition of the Scarborough Mall began on Monday August 12, with a timeframe of ten to twelve weeks. Channel 5 News contacted NIPDEC representative Patrick Caesar, as they will be overseeing the demolition process.
The Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Utilities has now divulged some concerns he has, with the new Shaw Park Cultural Facility currently under construction. An additional 45 million dollars has been air marked in this year’s Tobago House of Assembly budget for the completion of the Shaw Park Cultural Complex.
The Scarborough NIB Mall is soon to be demolished, but the question is what will be the process used. Also, how long will it take and will the public be alerted when it is about to take place.
The handing over of the second phase of the Scarborough General Hospital will be delayed by at least one month. NIPDEC has reported the delay in a recent correspondence to the Division of Health and Social Services.
